When appointed to install a new telephone system for Industrial Flooring Systems, the brief was potentially complicated. IFS manufacture chemicals and wood treatment products for the construction industry. Traditionally these had been marketed under three different companies out of separate offices.

The amalgamation of the majority of the business in the northern office in Newton le Willows meant that in bound calls to the central phone system would have to be answered appropriately to reflect the historical branding.

This was made more complicated by the fact that each company had dedicated sales, account handling and accounts functions, which would now be housed under the same roof.

Avandda looked closely at the logistics and put forward a proposal to minimise disruption to the existing arrangements. They recommended a Samsung OfficeServ system with a sophisticated auto attendant feature, which would allow inbound calls to be directed to the appropriate company and department. On top of this direct dial was offered to key personnel so that customers could bypass the reception system. Call identity on handsets would allow staff to know under which company name to answer the call. This even allowed calls, which the system overflowed from one sales force into another at peak times, to be answered appropriately. On top of this voice mail messages where branded accordingly and gave a much better impression of the company.
