Cornwall Street Magistrates chambers in Manchester is home to 69 barristers together with their support staff. When Avandda conducted their initial survey it was clear that there was a real opportunity to improve the communication system for all involved.

The old analogue system was trying to cope with high call volumes from solicitors primarily looking to appoint barristers for upcoming cases. Clerks were struggling to deal with this influx on information and were then forced to commit messages to paper and direct around the building.

Avandda recommended the new Samsung 7200 digital system, which would allow advanced call management, redirect calls internally and provide both voice mail and importantly, the ability to record conversations held.

The challenge also involved the installation to a grade 2 listed building a CAT 5 network to five floors, overhauling the systems and installing the new phone system - all of which was completed on time and to budget.
